Good morning! I am here this morning, enjoying the after effects of a rainstorm here. I wanted to share something with you. I was in the kitchen preparing for something to cook today, and I thought about apple pie, apple cobbler, apple bread, or apple crumble. I'm trying to think of something to make today because I had some apples on my counter.
There's wax on these apples, and most people know that wax has been added, and it needs to be removed. I scraped it off my apple. One thing that I want to share here is wax is automatically in an apple when they are grown and growing and developing. They produce their own wax. The wax that is on there now is a man-made food-grade wax.
When the apple is growing, the reason why the wax is produced from the inside of the apple is to retain the water content and to keep it fresh, and it keeps the skin where it is and keeps it nice and juicy. It maintains that water content.
While the apples are growing, pesticides are put on the apple to protect it from dirt and all kinds of fertilizers and other things. And in this process, when the apples are being picked, they are washed to remove the natural wax that came from the apple and to remove the pesticides, the fertilizer, and the dirt, and all of that. This process is followed by a food-grade wax that's put on the apple to protect the apple again to retain that water content.
As I looked at my apples, it made me think of people as these apples. In life, we see an apple the way it is. We see if it's an older apple or a younger apple or one that's got a lot of gifts and talents and those that's just myriad of things. The thing about apples and about people is first of all, you cannot look at this apple and tell me how many seeds it has or what its potential is. Nobody knows the potential of an apple as far as how many things you can get out of an apple and how many seeds of greatness are within an apple. How many seeds of greatness are within you? Nobody knows its potential.
Right now, I want to use whatever I got. Maybe I'll mix the apples. You can't look on the outside and say that this apple can't do this or that. Because when I have an apple, I'll do with it whatever I want. Don't let the limitations of the wax on the outside that's been stripped take away who you are and what you can do.
We can do this! You have a good one!
